"Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen," Ralph Waldo Emerson once said.

Paulo Coelho said something similar in his book The Alchemist. He said, "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." I have experienced this to be true countless times in my life. Recently, I had been experiencing this truth once more very frequently as I receive many affirmations almost everywhere I look on my decision to write new books.

I watched a movie with my husband last night and I was pleasantly surprised that even the film was used by the universe to affirm and encourage me to finish writing my book ideas and work to get them published. I really find it amazing that sometimes things just seem to leap from everywhere trying to tell you a message that you love to hear/receive. That's what happened to me last night.
There was a woman in the movie who wanted to write a book about something she was very passionate about. She had her share of obstacles and challenges as she was working on it, including not having money anymore because she lost her job and she was no longer popular like before. But she decided to stick to her decision and follow her heart. To her surprise, she got a call that led her to potential publishers of her book. The next scenes showed her getting ready for a book fair where she was to speak and do book signing. Amazing!
If you have read my ealier post about my experience in the recent Manila International Book Fair, you would understand where I'm coming from. I suddenly could relate to her character in the movie. I also pictured myself signing books at next year's Manila International Book Fair. This was initially inspired by a bestselling author who shared her experience at the talk I recently attended entitled Write Your Own Book. She said that the same speaker who gave the talk in this year's event was the same speaker when she was still planning to write a book. Guess what this same speaker asked them to write in their notebooks then? "I'm going to sign my books next year at the Manila International Book Fair." Those words came true for that author. I was so inspired by what she shared that I made that my goal and my vision as well as I left the seminar room that day.
Thus, I felt my heart leap for joy last night when I saw this same scene in the movie I was watching. Was it coincidence? For me, it's the God of the universe encouraging me and affirming me to go on because this is where He wants me to go. For me, it's God leading me by the hand and letting me know that I'm on the right path.
I'm so excited for the days, months, and the new year ahead! I look forward to the fulfillment of the dreams that God has planted in my heart. I know that He HImself will make away just as He has always done in my life. I'm confident that as a need arises for these dreams of mine to be fulfilled, He will command His universe to provide for me. Everything will just fall into place. The people that I need to meet and help me in these book projects will find their way to me. It has happened to me before when I wrote and published my first book. I know that it can and will happen again!
May the God who goes before me always be glorified in my life!
By the way, if you are intrigued on what movie I saw last night, it's Hereafter.
It's amazing how God speaks to our hearts through the universe He created. This morning, He spoke to me through a line from Loyola Press 3 Minute Retreat: "God saw to it that creation meets our every need."
ReplyDeleteAnd yesterday, after working on the draft of one of the children's books I'm writing for around an hour, I was surprised to realize that I have finished my draft! This is an abundance of grace! Praise and thanks be to God Most High!
